Reference: OPS250 Location: Field based, Libya. Maintenance, overhaul, repair and testing of a wide variety of instrumentation equipment and systems, associated with the Company’s oil and gas operations.
Responsible for the observance of safe work practices in the field and workshop areas, and ensures that applicable safety procedures and regulations are followed by the personnel under such jurisdiction. Ensures that all installation and repair work is carried out according to the applicable standards and codes of practice, and that the workforce under the Instrumentation Foreman’s command is aware of such standards. Undertakes the maintenance, repair, testing and installation of a wide variety of pneumatic, electric and electronic instrumentation and control systems. This includes, but is not limited to: systems, which indicate or control basic functions such as, flow, and complex rotating equipment. Sophisticated surveillance and condition monitoring systems, complex laboratory analysis equipment. Assists in the maintenance of files and records pertaining to the installed equipment. Carries out efficient remedial action to correct instrumentation malfunction or failure on a 24-hour basis. Works closely with local trainees and monitors training progress. Analyses equipment or system faults and recommends corrective action. Understands the Company’s warehousing system and stock control methods. Prepares stock withdrawal orders on a routine basis. Has a high standard of housekeeping, both within the workshop area and on site. Educates trainees in suitable methods. Uses a wide variety of test and calibration equipment and knows the limits and capabilities of such equipment. Should have a responsible attitude to the Company’s needs and requirements. Required Qualifications and Experience: BSc in Instrumentation or Petroleum Institute Certificate or equivalent with further technical or academic, job related training. Minimum of 8 years post training experience in a relevant instrumentation discipline.
