Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Engineering services required to carry out electrical installation projects involving LV and MV switchgear, Power Distribution equipment, OHL, substations, building electrical systems, Gas Turbines Power Generation plants and their assocoiated control systems.
· Designing support for projects across the whole of the company’s sites.
· Design and Engineering of new projects including preparation of detailed scope of work and tender proposals, cost analysis and project reports.
· Undertaking studies and analysis rrelated to electrical installations and make appropriate reports and recommendations.
· Technical advice on electrical projects and checking contractors work to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering standards and hazardous areas classifications.
· Interface with other departments and outside suppliers and contractors.
· Undertaking bid evaluations.
· Site investigations on special operational issues and recommend solutions.
· Preparing and reviewing specifications for electrical equipment.
· Estimating or providing input to estimating for plant and projects.
· Will be working in a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Experience Required
· BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering or it’s equivalent.
· Ideally, should have satisfied the training requirements for Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, and have some experience of power engineering in the petrochemical industry.
· Experience in the Planning, Design, Co-ordination and Project Management of Oil Field or Petrochemical or heavy industry electrical installations and design projects.
· Posses a detailed understanding of the subject and proven evidence of technical capabilities.
· Possess a strong technical background and the ability to translate this into practical applications and advice.
· The successful applicant should also have experience of medium and low voltage equipment and exposure to and training in the related aspects of the Oil and Gas industry, particularly in terms of the electrical discipline.
· Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate and support electrical activities within the site organisation.
· Able to deal effectively with conflicting demands on time.
